Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses were developed by Bausch & Lomb in 1936 to protect the eyes of pilots while flying airplanes. Unlike other types of designer sunglasses these feature dark, reflective lenses with an area two or three times the size of your eye. The glasses also feature thin, metal frames with a double or triple bridge, flexible cable temples, ear hooks, and bayonet earpieces.
Although the original purpose of the Ray-Ban Aviator was to prevent as much light as possible from getting into pilots eyes from all angles, the style has transformed into one of the hottest trends on the fashion market. General Douglas MacArthur first made the style popular when he was photographed wearing them at a beach in the Philippines during World War II. Beginning the 1960’s, the style became an iconic symbol in pop culture thanks to celebrities like Paul McCartney, Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, and Sylvester Stallone. Although the style waned in the 1990’s, it came back with a vengeance in the early 2000’s and hasn’t gone anywhere since.Seamless Adhesive Bras: Two-Pack ($15) or Four-Pack ($25) (Don’t Pay up to $59.90)
